Booth Associates provides support to regional Councils for Strategic and Community Planning such as Economic Development Strategies and Community Development Plans.
Plan of Management - Narrandera Common
Booth Associates were engaged by a local council to prepare a Plan of Management for a 500ha reserve adjacent to the Murrumbidgee River. This required a range of environmental surveys including assessment of riparian ecological condition, flora and fauna surveys and GPS features survey. The project involved working with stakeholders and the community to identify values, vision, assets and issues for the Reserve. Prescriptions for management including a works schedule were developed to assist the Council in optimising the Reserve’s ecological and cultural assets, promoting local and visitor usage and facilitating long term sustainability.
Economic Development Strategy
Booth Associates prepared Economic Development Strategies for the Balranald, Hay and Wentworth Shire Councils. The Strategies were developed via a series of workshops with stakeholders from business, industry, community and Council. Strategic Planning
On behalf of Albury City and the shires of Corowa, Greater Hume and Urana, Booth Associates undertook the Stage 2 studies titled “Where Are We Now?” as part of the Strengthening Basin Communities project funded by DEWHA. The project included extensive targeted consultation with stakeholders across the four LGAs and provided recommendations for member Councils for projects that will underpin the future prosperity of the region. Booth Associates assists Councils in rural planning including Rural Land Strategies, particularly relating to Councils revising their Local Environmental Plans and Minimum Lot Sizes for agriculture.
